Crossed perspectives - Intersectionality
This exchange workshop offers an introduction to intersectionality and a collective reflection through three presentations:
🔹 Esthere Tchaleu Wanko, sociologist and researcher in gender studies, will analyze the experiences of migrant women from Africa to Belgium facing sexual and sexist violence, highlighting the intersecting discrimination they suffer.
🔹 Lisa Nsenga Ngoie, jurist and student in gender studies, will explore intersectionality in the prison environment in sub-Saharan Africa, highlighting the specific gender challenges in prison and avenues for more inclusive justice.
🔹 Violences Pluri’elles, a support service (CDF) for women victims of domestic violence, will share its intersectional and multidisciplinary approach to better understand and overcome institutional barriers.
Through these exchanges, we will question power dynamics, inequalities, and possible solutions for care that is more adapted to the realities of the people concerned.
